SAGE Publishing has an agreement with the University of Texas System to publish articles open access, and this agreement will run from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2025. The corresponding author must be affiliated with a member institution participating in the license agreement for their article to qualify for the article processing charge (APC) discount; UT Southwestern is a participating member institution.
Corresponding UT Southwestern authors who publish an article a journal included in the 2023 SAGE Premier Package that offers hybrid open access publishing (SAGE Choice) may do so without paying an article processing charge (APC). Please note: Charges other than the APC may still apply; authors should refer to individual journal submission guidelines for more information.
Corresponding UT Southwestern authors may also publish articles in a gold open access journal at no charge where the journal is eligible for the agreement. For participating journals, view the gold journal title list. This 100% gold discount will be applied automatically in the SAGE Open Access Portal.
Authors do not need to take any action to benefit from this offer. SAGE will contact all eligible authors to inform them of the agreement and invite them to the SAGE Open Access Portal to take up the offer as soon as their accepted article has been received into SAGE’s Production department.
Open access articles are released under one of six Creative Commons licenses currently available. Though OA articles are free to access, the Creative Commons license assigned to the article will stipulate under what circumstances article content can be copied, adapted, displayed, distributed, republished or otherwise re-used.
