Site Selection Guidelines for Links
The UT Southwestern Health Sciences Digital Library and Learning Center uses the following general guidelines when identifying and evaluating Internet resources to be provided through the Library's Web site:
- Relevancy - Meets the needs of faculty, staff, students, residents, and fellows of UT Southwestern Medical Center and employees of UT Southwestern University Hospitals. Supports UT Southwestern's mission:
- EDUCATE
Physicians, scientists, and caregivers optimally prepared to serve the needs of patients and society
- DISCOVER
Research that solves for unmet needs by finding better treatments, cures, and prevention with a commitment to ensuring real world application
- HEAL
Best care possible today, with continuous improvement and innovation for better care tomorrow
- Credibility - Consideration given to the reputation of the host site.
- Layout - Good design and clear presentation provided.
- Content - Contains substantive information which is accurate and complete.
Publishers' license agreements restrict use of most electronic resources to faculty, staff, students, residents, and fellows of UT Southwestern Medical Center and employees of UT Southwestern University Hospitals.
Library staff may also consider additional criteria located on other Web sites, such as Health on the Net.
