The UT Southwestern Health Sciences Digital Library and Learning Center conforms to the American Library Association's Policy on the Confidentiality of Library Records, which states, "We protect each library user's right to privacy and confidentiality with respect to information sought or received, and materials consulted, borrowed, or transmitted."
Because of the Library staff's commitment to this policy, patrons can expect that any information of a private nature that is gathered by the Library will not be made available to any other entity outside the Library except as required by law.
Routine record keeping functions performed by the Library staff (i.e., circulation, statistics, etc.) in no way compromise the above principle and are carried out only to ensure proper management of the collection and to assure that Library users receive quality services and resources.
