The UT Southwestern Medical Center Library Collection Development Policies serve to guide library staff in the orderly development and maintenance of a quality collection that serves the diverse needs of the UT Southwestern Medical Center campus. The underlying basis for all collection decisions is to support the campus mission, campus priorities, and the information needs of its faculty, staff, and students related to those activities. With these principles in mind, our Collection Development Policies are not “static documents” and must be viewed as “living frameworks” that are realistically flexible and responsive to the information needs of the campus in a rapidly changing environment of biomedical information flow.
