This room contains a collection of over 1,000 primary resource books created between 1550 and mid-1990s which have influenced the growth and development of medical science. Highlights from the apothecary jar collection, which was donated in memory of Leon A. Harris in 1959, are also on display in this room.

The only items that may be taken into the Rare Book Room are laptops, notebooks, pencils, wallets, and cell phones. No food or drink is allowed in the Rare Book Room.
