Government and Academic Resources

  • Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
    Several projects are underway including the Heathcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) & interactive tool for hospital statistics, the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), the Healthcare Informatics Standards, and the HIV & AIDS Cost & Use with an interactive tool for statistics on use of HIV/AIDS resources. Some of the reports available under Research Findings will also provide some statistical data. Information on specific nursing research and clinical data is also available.
  • HealthIT.gov
    Health information technology (health IT) makes it possible for health care providers to better manage patient care through secure use and sharing of health information. Health IT includes the use of electronic health records (EHRs) instead of paper medical records to maintain people's health information.
  • HSRIC Health Informatics
    Health Services Research Information Central maintains a page through the U.S. National Library of Medicine & National Institutes of Health with resources in Health Informatics.
  • Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications
    LHNCBC conducts research and development in biomedical informatics and the use of advanced communications and computing technologies to improve how NLM (National Library of Medicine) brings clinical data and health information to consumers, health care providers, and researchers.
